There has been much debate lately or maybe for years regarding the best form of parenting. While you have those who believe in the strong hand can teach a child the right way to go, then there's others who believe in instilling love and freedom of expression leads to better decision making. Which is right? There's no truth to what works for one will also and quite always work for another. We all know how the scripture that tells us if you spare the rod you spoil the child. But could that rod mean a heavy hand or the gentle love? Whose to say? The kids today have the opportunity to too much more than when our parents heck even our grandparents had access to which in turns give them a self worth of entitlement.
As a foster parent this became a focus that I had to education myself more on. How to parent but also parent with confidence and love all while making sure much kids understand that I am the parent first. There's a better understanding of gentle parent when you are parenting kids with trauma. Using gentle parenting makes one have to think more out of the box when it comes to discipline as well as express emotions. So as parents, which parenting technique works for your household?
